WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY CAKE?

For custom event cake orders, the earlier the better. We can book out far in advance. We will however, always do our best to accommodate your order within our cake schedule. However, most of our wedding clients are ready to begin the cake design process roughly 6-12 months prior to their event.

DO YOU TEACH CAKE DECORATING CLASSES?

CAN I CUSTOMISE AN EXISTING VIOLET & SALT DESIGN?

Yes, absolutely. If you have seen something you like but want to change it slightly, or even combine some of the elements with those from another design we have created, we would be happy to discuss this further. Please note that each cake is a unique expression with no two cakes being identical. We create something special for you inspired by your design or theme and flavour selection. CAN YOU REPLICATE A DESIGN FOR MY EVENT? 

No, copies sorry! We take pride in the edible art we produce. All creatives have their own style and vision. We have a great respect for fellow decorators within the industry, therefor Violet & Salt would never replicate other designs. Our pieces are signature to our brand and we will work with you, bringing your concept to life.


HOW DO I MAKE PAYMENT? 

If you are placing an order online, the website will take you through to checkout where all payment options available will be displayed. If you have commissioned a bespoke cake from us, payment can be made via direct bank transfer to our business account listed on your invoice. Please always note your invoice number in the payment description for our accounts team to track. 


How do I order a custom cake? 

Get in touch! We’d love to hear from you. Fill out the contact us form with a few details about what you would like and we will get back to you with a quote to get the process started. 


ORDERS, CLIENT BRieF & INVOICING 

Once you provide us with your brief including theme, colours and flavours we will correspond via email to ensure we are on the same page. You will then be emailed your quote which is valid for 7 days. Upon confirmation, your invoice will need to be paid in full. Any changes after this will incur a $50 revision fee. Designs and orders cannot be changed within two weeks of your event.


I DON’T SEE A FLAVOUR I LIKE ONLINE, IS THERE ANY OTHERS?

No problems. We’ve got you covered! For all bespoke orders, we have an extensive list of flavour combinations. Contact us to discuss further.


FOOD & ALLERGY DISCLAIMER 

Violet & Salt understands the seriousness of food allergies however, our kitchen is not an allergy-free space. All efforts are made to minimize risk where requested. It cannot be guaranteed that items are completely free from ingredients that may affect those with food allergies. Please inform us of any ingredients or type of food restrictions that may cause allergic reactions and we will do our best to accommodate your request. 


WHAT STYLE CAKES DO YOU OFFER?

We specialise in handcrafted buttercream and ganache cakes with the addition of other mediums for decorative purposes. Novelty cakes that are covered in fondant with figurines are not part of our design aesthetic however, we will come up with a creative solution to incorporate your theme in ways that remain true to our style.


WHAT DETERMINES THE PRICE OF MY BESPOKE CAKE?

There are many factors to consider when we create the bespoke cake of your dreams. You are quoted based on design, the ingredients used within the flavour pairing of choice, the size of the cake based on number of guests or various tiers and the time to complete your cakes and desserts. Please note, if you’re needing your cake delivered this will be an additional fee.


CAN YOU DELIVER MY ORDER?  

Yes, we can deliver but we only deliver in the Melbourne area. Please note that delivery is charged at a premium rate as we use a dedicated driver that knows how to handle cake orders to be able get your order safely to you.


TRANSPORTING YOUR OWN CAKE

All cakes are to be transported on the floor in the back seat of a car with a non-slip mat under the base of your cake box. Temperature control/air-conditioning must be used on the journey. Upon arriving at your destination, cakes must be stored in a refrigerator. On warm days, cakes are to be brought out and kept at room temperature 1hr prior to consuming and 2-3hrs on cold days.

All photos of our work must be credited on all social media and marketing platforms.
